One of the questions we are often asked is “Why is there no Sodium in Strate Superfuel?”.
We created Superfuel to be used year round by all athletes. In doing so, we maximized the delivery of ATP by includingCreatine andInositol in our formula with Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin (HBCD). Trace Minerals were also incorporated as an important for physiological roles in muscle contraction, oxygen transport and antioxidant activity. All of these ingredients are portioned in Strate Superfuel in a ratio that works well for most athletes.
Performance X Factor
Sodium is important to prevent cramps, improve hydration, and increase power output. The challenge is each athlete's needs are vastly different.
“Rather incredibly, the amount of sweat /sodium lost can vary up to 10 times between seemingly similar individuals. Everyone loses a different amount of sodium in their sweat, from as little as 200mg per liter of sweat, to as much as 2,000mg/l - this is largely genetically determined. This means that a 'one-size-fits-all', off the shelf approach doesn't work when it comes to hydration.”- VISIONQUEST LABS
We intentionally left Sodium off the Strate Superfuel profile so you can fine tune your needs. A pinch of salt is an easy add-on to your bottle and adds 300mg of sodium which is sufficient for most athletes in normal conditions. Two to three times might be required in hot conditions.
